What you’ll do as our STEM instructor

  • Lead engaging, age-appropriate classes covering the physics of flight, aircraft structures, aerodynamics, and rocket propulsion and design
  • Guide students through building and flying model airplanes — from the basics of control surfaces and stability to real hands-on assembly
  • Run rocketry activities: propulsion fundamentals, design trade-offs, safe building, and launches
  • Break down complex engineering ideas into fun, simple, hands-on lessons that hold the attention of a young audience
  • Create a safe, encouraging, high-energy environment where questions are celebrated and mistakes are part of learning
  • Manage the day-to-day flow of the classroom — materials, builds, pacing, and (when applicable) teaching assistants
  • Keep parents and program staff informed of student progress and needs

What we’re looking for in an aerospace engineering instructor

Our ideal candidate is an Aerospace Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated, hands-on knowledge of the topics above — including real experience building model airplanes.

That said, we care more about capability and passion than about the exact line on your résumé. Engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and beyond) and non-engineers are warmly encouraged to apply if you have what it takes and can prove it.
